Our company

History

Due to the decease of founder Marcel Vandenberghe, mrs. and mr. Eric Dobbels have taken over the business in the year 1964. In 1958, Marcel Vandenberghe had the bright idea of cooking and smoking hams for his colleague-butchers. Therefore, not all the butchers in the nearby area had to invest in such a big capital demanding machines.

Several times the buildings were extended. Beginning from 400m² to now up to 3000 m². Since 1991 we have raised the capital in order to change the structure into an “anonymous partnership”. We are still a family company where the attention for quality and flexibility prime! In January 2005, their daughter, Sophie, is continuing the business.

For Sophie it was a big challenge restructuring the company, keeping the good name “DOBBELS MEAT sa.” And giving her nobility “quality, packaging,
service, flexibility” to the meat products to satisfy the needs of her local, national and international (globalisation) customers.

In 2007 a big evolution was launched. Sophie Dobbels created the brand “NOBLYS”
Dobbels Meat sa has extended his activities and started selling its products in Europe under the brand name “NOBLYS”.

Further in 2007 we participated at the international food exhibition GULFOOD in Dubai. As a result of this attendance, we started selling our products in Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates.

In 2008 we even took a step further and took part in the HOFEX fair in Hong Kong. As a consequence of that we now have an importer over there who is promoting the Noblys products in South-East Asia.
